  Liverpool Hope University is different…

It is unlike any other university in the United Kingdom. Its work has been shaped for over 165 years by Christian principles but it embraces those of all faiths and none.

Liverpool Hope prides itself on the quality of its research. It seeks the highest academic standards while helping students to become responsible citizens of the world. As one of Britain's smaller universities it values the individual. Care, concern and support for students are always a priority.

Widening participation is one of the founding principles of the institution and this philosophy of reaching out to people not traditionally involved in HE continues today.

We believe the quality of the educational experience at Liverpool Hope University matches the best available. We do not believe that education is just about equipping people for the world of work; we also educate students for the work of the world.

Liverpool Hope University has recruited, and continues to seek, academic staff of the highest quality from around the world. They join a community of scholars dedicated to intellectual vibrancy. As well as continuing their own research, all Hope professors also teach undergraduates.

TWO CAMPUSES…

Liverpool Hope University has two campuses, one three miles from the city centre, the other within a brisk walk of it. Students based at both Hope Park and The Creative Campus will find relaxed and inspiring places in which to learn. There is also an outdoor centre at Plas Caerdeon in Wales.

The landscaped green spaces of Hope Park provide a tranquil environment for academic study and debate. Scholars and students can relax and mingle away from the bustle of the city centre, enjoying a library with extended opening hours. Massive investment of over £20m has been made on new buildings in the past few years.

The Creative Campus has two main buildings and gardens modelled on those of renaissance Italy. The Cornerstone is based in the former St Francis Xavier School, an imposing example of 19th century architecture transformed by an award-winning and sensitive restoration into a 21st century centre for learning. The Capstone opened in 2010, a £7.5m development, housing the Hope Theatre with a perfect acoustic environment.

Here students follow courses in art, design, music and drama, close to some of the world’s finest cultural institutions. Hope is the leading University in Liverpool for engagement with the cultural life of the city. Indeed The Creative Campus is home to a range of unique cultural partnerships with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, European Opera Centre, 10/10 Ensemble, Milapfest, Steinway and Tate Liverpool, to name just a few.
