First year undergraduate students

As you read this you may still be at school, or have recently left and the thought of going to University will be both exciting and daunting.  You will be taking on a new academic challenge and probably living away from home for the first time – a huge step for anyone.  Remember, everyone coming to University feels exactly the same and our aim is to ensure that you have the best possible experience, both in and out of class.

Living in Halls will give you the best start to your new life and provides you with a secure and fun place to live while you progress with your studies.  Your Resident Tutors will check on your progress and host social events and dining-in nights where you can meet up with your Hall neighbours.

Which Halls are available to first year undergraduates?

First years can choose from the full range of accommodation, but as allocations are made in date order, the most popular Halls (i.e. those at Hope Park) will get booked up quickly.

Continuing students (second and third year undergraduates)

You may choose to come back to Halls for a second or third year, or have had a year out in private accommodation.  Continuing students are very welcome in Halls and can benefit from the full range of academic support and pastoral care available, plus the social aspects of dining in nights and other social events.  You will find that Hall prices compare well with private accommodation as they are all inclusive of fuel costs and internet access, which are usually additional costs in private rooms.
