Support for you from 'Student Support and Well-being'

At Liverpool Hope University we aim to support Care Leaver’s throughout their time at University. We have a range of support services set up to help students make the transition into Higher Education. We also provide continuing support throughout the University experience, helping you to achieve success.

Liverpool Hope was recently awarded the Frank Buttle Trust kite mark for its good practice in supporting Care Leavers.

The Frank Buttle Trust is a registered charity which provides support to children and young people who have spent time in care.  Learn more from their website http://www.buttletrust.org/

For Care Leavers we offer

• Help in securing 365 day accommodation throughout your time Liverpool Hope University.

• Easy access to financial help and guidance.

• A dedicated member of the Student Support and Well-being Team, who is available to offer any extra support or advice    that you may need, such as;

  •   Acting as a link between the University, you and your local authority, before and during your course.
  •   Making you aware of various services that Liverpool Hope University offers.
  •   A person you can simply chat to about anything you are unsure about.

We see Care Leavers as young people aged 18-21 who have been looked after for 13 weeks or more since the age of 14 or young people who cease to be looked after/accommodated when coming to university.

However we understand that every student's circumstances are different and we consider all requests for additional support carefully. We also understand that as a Care Leaver you may not want or need additional support.
