 Pre-Paid 2013

The Pre-Paid 2013 bi-annual Blind Auction took place on the evening of Wednesday 11th December.

The event was a fantastic success and raised £3,315, exceeding the funds raised from previous Pre-paids. The proceeds will be donated to The Artists’ Benevolent Institution (AGBI) and Global Hope.

Pre-paid is made possible by the generosity of all artists and bidders who take part and The Cornerstone Gallery, Liverpool Hope University, the AGBI and Global Hope would like to extend the warmest of thanks to all those that took part and made the event such a success.

A list of all 2013 contributors have now been matched to the individual postcards and can be viewed below.

A special thank you is extended to James Baxter (Head of Character Animation at Dreamworks, U.S.A.), Denise Robertson (Agony Aunt on ITV’s This Morning ), Bishop James Jones (Former Bishop of Liverpool), Johnny Kennedy (Singer, performer and Radio personality), The Singh Twins (Artists, writers and film makers ), Herbert Howe (Founder of Herbert of Liverpool, TV and Radio personality), Roger Hill (Liverpool Radio presenter) and Kazem Rajaie, this event’s international artist from Iran.

Pre-paid is growing from strength to strength and is now eagerly anticipated by many. The next Pre-paid will be in November and December 2015.

If you would like guarantee you do not miss the next event or would like to receive a postcard submission pack when the process begins then please e-mail the The Cornerstone Gallery at thecornerstonegallery@hope.ac.uk

About the charities

The Artists’ General Benevolent Institution is one of the oldest charities in the UK helping artists since its foundation by J. M. W. Turner in 1814. It assists professional artists, sculptors, painters and designers, who, through accident, illness or old age, cannot work and earn. Widows and orphaned children of artists are also eligible.

Global Hope is Liverpool Hope University’s overseas education charity using University resources to support the educational development of communities overseas. In particular this means using the University’s expertise in learning and teaching, research and subject knowledge to work alongside partners in developing countries to appropriately meet their educational needs. This approach is grounded in the principle of reciprocity. A commitment to these relationships over the longer term has enabled genuine partnerships to develop. As a result, a deeper level of cross-cultural understanding now exists between Global Hope and its partners across three continents.

*The Live auction was originally scheduled to be broadcast live through Radio Hope. Unfortunately, Radio Hope is undergoing an emergency upgrade and unfortunately will no longer be transmitting on Wednesday 11th December. This was unforeseen. The staff and students involved in the radio station would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
