A Christian Research Centre and Consultancy based at the Education Faculty of Liverpool Hope University.
Research & Consultancy Aims :
-
To conduct empirical research into Christian school ethos, mission, values distinctiveness, spirituality and leadership.

To provide a forum for doctoral and post doctoral research activity into relationships between Christian ethos, community and institutional effectiveness.

To research, develop and to disseminate fresh thinking about the critical appreciation and creative appropriation of Christian tradition that illuminates, inspires, guides and supports educational practice.

To support Christian educators and schools in their task of providing an education that is distinctive (in promoting discipleship), effective and inclusive.

To enhance the provision of advanced continuing professional development for Christian educators to become more familiar with and confident in communicating the truths and practices within the Christian tradition and to enhance their capacity to relate these to constantly changing and challenging contexts, mentalities and opportunities.

To provide opportunities for personal renewal of teachers (and other adults) working in and for church schools, enhancing their sense of vocation, deepening their motivation, facilitating their mutual support.
Current Areas of Research
The Centre offers support for academic research and reflection at Masters and Doctorate level in the areas of Christian Leadership, Christian School Effectiveness, Pupil Outcomes, School Culture and Ethos, the Moral Character of Christian Education. Current doctoral students attached to the Centre, from UK and abroad, are researching School Effectiveness, Children’s Spiritual Development, Values Education, Culture and Ethos, Leadership and Management, Spirituality of Leadership.
