eden.jpgResearch in the Education Faculty are organised into five centres and one institute:

  • Centre for Christian Education (CfCE), directed by Dr Andrew Morris
  • Centre for Culture and Disability Studies (CfCDS), directed by Dr David Bolt
  • Centre for the Child, Family and Society (CfCFS), directed by Dr Joan Walton
  • Centre for Pedagogy (CfP), directed by Dr Tessa Owens
  • Centre for International and Development Education (CfIDE), co-directed by Phil Bamber and Dr Wendy Bignold
  • Institute for Research into Education and Society (IfRES), directed by Dr Wendy Bignold

These groupings place research and scholarly activity at the centre of all Faculty work. All members of Faculty academic staff and research students identify in the first instance with one of these research centres and institute. These structures support research-active staff through ongoing research mentoring, emphasis on research-informed teaching, and readily-available research support.

Liverpool Hope University strives to ensure that all research conducted by Hope staff and students is sensitive to and protects the rights and dignity of both research participants and researchers and pays proper attention to the integrity of the environment.

The Faculty has it's own rigourous procedures which are carried out by the Faculty Ethics Research Sub Committee .
