Teaching and Education Fair 2017

Are you interested in a career in Education? Are you looking to secure your first teaching role?

Meet face to face with 18 local and national teaching organisations, recruitment agencies and local authorities. PLUS attend workshops and seminars from Lee Vale Teachers, Capita Education and McGinley Education.

12pm – Lea Vale Teachers – John Manning

Application Forms and Personal Statements

John has been involved in teacher recruitment, for Local Authorities, a Teaching School Alliance, and as a freelance consultant, for over 15 years, most of that time working with schools in and around Luton, and will advise you on what to do – and what not to do – when submitting an application and drafting a supporting statement for NQT posts. This will include both pool applications, and applications to individual schools.

12.45pm – Capita Education – Jonathan Newport

Head teachers Essential/Desirable List for NQT’s

Jonathan began his career teaching in a mainstream school before moving to Barnardo’s where he worked for sixteen years and was the Primary Head Teacher, Deputy Principal and Head of Education at Barnardo’s largest special school. Jonathan works with student teachers as part of the capita mentor scheme. He also works as part of the capita recruitment partner team advising schools on candidate selection and interview processes.

1.30pm – McGinley Education – Mr Phil Daniels

Marking and Moderating Pupils Work

Phil Daniels is the Head Teacher of local school Springwood Heath Primary School. Phil will present a session that will allow you to gain insight into this much talked about topic including hints, tips and recommendations.

2.15pm. McGinley Education – Mr James Pattinson

Career in Education without Teaching

James is a qualified primary school teacher who still works in education but no longer teaches. James will share his experiences and discuss the wide range of diverse options available to graduates today who have chosen a career in the education sector without them having to teach.
