Thursday, 01 February 2018 - Wednesday, 28 February 2018
Starts: Tuesday, 20 February 2018
The Department of Geography and Environmental Science research seminar series.
Speaker: Dr Erin Pritchard, Liverpool Hope University
My talk aims to introduce geographies of disability, demonstrating how we can understand disability through engaging with spaces. I draw on my doctoral work, which explored the social and spatial experiences of people with dwarfism to show his how disability is socially constructed within different spaces. This talk aims to show how both the meaning and materiality of spaces affect how disabled people negotiate spaces.
