Spirit of Liverpool: BBC House Through Time

Wednesday, 5 December 2018 , 1pm
EDEN130 (Hope Park)

Speaker: Dr Ian Cubbin (Athenaeum of Liverpool and John Moores University)

This talk explores the spirit of Liverpool with a reflection on the role of the Athenaeum of Liverpool in the city’s history and, indeed, its relationship with the BBC’s four part series ‘A House Through Time’. Broadcast in 2018, the programme tracks the occupants of 62 Faulkner Street until the present day. Both filming and research took place at the Athenaeum, including an interview with the club’s very own Vincent Roper in episode one.  There is further Athenaeum involvement in episode four, with club proprietor Professor John Belchem also interviewed for the programme.
