Thursday, 11 October 2018
The Business School would like to invite you to the first of the 2018/19 guest lecture series entitled Sarvodaya -Buddhism, Economics and Entrepreneurship in Rural Sri Lanka.
The lecture will be delivered by Dr Vinya Ariyaratne, General Secretary of Sarvodaya and Lecturer in Community Medicine, in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.
For the last 57 years, Sarvodaya has worked hand-in-hand with millions of deprived Sri Lankans, to end extreme poverty, following its unique philosophy to create a ‘no-poverty, no-affluence society’.
This is based on the Buddhist way of living ‘the middle-path’, advocating a fusion of the spiritual, moral, cultural, social, economic and political development, in order to achieve sustainable development, that is fair for all.
All are welcome.
