Cathy Come Home (1966)

The film follows young lovers Cathy and Reg from the optimism of early married life to falling on hard times when Reg is injured at work. They begin a slide into poverty, debt, homelessness and separation, culminating in Cathy having her children forcibly taken away by Social Services.
