On Wednesday 14th July, the University had awarded two honourary doctorates, one to Cherie Booth QC (pictured, left) (Doctorate of Laws), the other to renowned philosopher and writer, Sir Anthony Kenny (Doctorate of Divinity).
The first Graduation Ceremony, on Tuesday 13th July, saw distinguished author, journalist and politician Professor Rajmohan Gandhi (right) receive a Doctorate of Letters. You can read Professor Gandhi's speech HERE.
Vice-Chancellor and Rector, Professor Gerald Pillay said: “They are all exceptional individuals for different reasons. They are people who are an inspiration to us all, whether it be in the field of education and research, engagement with public life or simply through living courageously in sometimes dangerous circumstances. In honouring them we bring honour to the University.”
