Colour studies poster wins at international conference

At the international conference 'Progress in Colour Studies 2012' held on 10th-13th July 2012 in Glasgow, the poster of Professor Galina Paramei entitled Blue colour terms in Italian monolinguals and bilinguals was awarded the prize for the best poster.

The poster is based on the results of an UG dissertation of and co-authored by Cristina Stara, former Erasmus Exchange student from the University of Sassari, Sardinia, Italy.

Professor Paramei is also involed in organising the 30th International Congress of Psychology will take place in Cape Town (South Africa) from 22nd to 27th July 2012.

Upon the invitation of Prof. Basil Pillay, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban (South Africa), Professor Paramei will chair Invited Symposium "Visual Perception: From Experiments to Modelling" and, as part of it, give a talk 'Chromatic discrimination across the lifespan'.

 The congress takes place every four years and brings together around 10,000 psychologists from all over the world; the number of Invited Symposia amounts to no more than 10-15.
