Initial Assessment

Students requesting counselling are normally taken through a short initial assessment of need by one of our team. The assessment is conducted confidentially and involves us asking you a few questions and getting you to complete some paperwork.  This process helps us to make a quick assessment of your current situation, lets you know a little more about what will happen next and also helps us decide whether you may require immediate assistance or support from another support service.

Assessment Appointment

When you arrive in the service for your first appointment please let the administrator know you have arrived, and the counsellor will come out and meet you.

Please arrive at least five minutes before the time of your first appointment. If you are completing the registration form just before your appointment you'll need to allow yourself enough time to do this, so please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment.

If for any reason you are unable to keep an appointment, please contact our administrator on 0151 291 3427 as soon as possible to let us know. If you do not cancel your appointment, other students may be denied the opportunity of support when they most need it.
