Liverpool Hope University aims to offer a room to all first year undergraduate students who accept a course at the University (this excludes students who accept a course place through Clearing, when rooms are subject to availability).
Rooms are also available to postgraduate students, second and third year undergraduates and international exchange students.
We do not have a defined geographical restriction, however, priority will be given to applicants whose home is outside the Merseyside region.
Exchange & Erasmus students will be given priority at St Julies Hall.
Applications for accommodation in our halls of residence are now live! To make an application please click HERE
Although we would prefer all our students to live in halls (check out the offers for second and third year students at St Michael's and St Julie's Hall located at Aigburth Student Village), if you do prefer to live in private accommodation in your second and third year, there is plenty of student accommodation available in the private sector.
There are several things to consider when searching for private rooms, such as who you want to live with and which area would be best for you. If you do think about these things in advance, you can start looking around and decide at leisure which room, hall or house to choose.
There are many private housing agencies both on the high street and online, and it is very difficult to know which are going to be good landlords. We advise you to use Liverpool Student Homes (LSH) which is the official student housing agency supported by the three Liverpool Universities (Liverpool Hope, the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores). www.liverpoolstudenthomes.org
LSH is the safest place to find accommodation as all the landlords who register with them must agree to the LSH Code of Conduct and supply up-to-date gas and electricity certificates. LSH will also help you to search for accommodation and can offer advice and guidance if you have a dispute with your landlord after moving in.
LSH offers a search service, both at their office and online where reputable landlords advertise properties to rent in Liverpool. You will find adverts for larger student halls, historic buildings, smaller developments and shared houses, both in the city centre and suburbs or Liverpool. The area most popular for Liverpool Hope students is the Wavertree/Smithdown area, where there are hundreds of shared houses, plus local shops and pubs catering for students.
Happy hunting and remember that the Student Union Vice President is happy to help with any issues or enquiries you may have in regards to private accommodation. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for advice.
