It is sometimes possible for students wishing to pursue studies in aspects of contemporary millennialism to gain a bursary equivalent to full home fees. Enquires should be addressed in the first instance to Professor Newport. In 2007-9 enquires from persons wishing to write a PhD in any area of the apocalypse in popular culture are particularly welcome.

Dr James Harding
PhD Graduate from the Centre

James Harding was awarded the Degree of PhD following a successful viva on Friday 1st September 2006. In their final report, the examiners commended the student on his presentation and sustained and detailed archival research work. James' thesis was entitled: ‘Come Out of Her my People’ (rev.18.4) the Use and Influence of the Whore of Babylon Motif in the Christian Brethren Movement, 1829-1900. Once the final copy is printed it will be accessible in The Sheppard-Worlock Library for reference.

James arrived at Hope to study for an undergraduate degree in 1998 and once successfully completed, he registered for a Masters degree, then a PhD. James is now going to teach in Thailand with best wishes from the University for the future.
