Print E-mail

Yesterday saw the reciprocal launch of Hope's newest Research Institute which is a joint venture with Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli, India.

The Institute was launched at Bishop Heber College in January and Hope welcomed Dr A Relton, their Head of the Department of Social Work

The collaboration between the two institutions will involve scholars from each working together to:

·    encourage collaborative research through individual and group research projects

·    provide joint support for research initiatives, and

·    take best advantage of publishing and dissemination opportunities.

Hope's latest Institute will focus on Social Work, Social Care and Health-based research activity and will allow them to work together to give support on both mission-related and academic activities.

Bishop Heber College has a very active Department of Social Work which offers both taught masters and postgraduate research degrees. There are a number of active researchers whose interests interpret Social Work in the widest sense of the discipline. Their interests include rural, urban and tribal development, youth family and child issues, drug abuse, AIDS morale, job satisfaction and also environmental issues.
