Liverpool Hope University’s Centre for Millennialism Studies is led by Dr John Walliss, Senior Lecturer in the Sociology of Religion. The Centre is focused on the study of contemporary manifestations of millennialism/apocalypticism; particularly the ‘afterlife’ of apocalyptic texts and ideas within popular culture. Among other activities, the Centre sponsors an annual Conference on contemporary millennialism, a book series with Sheffield Phoenix Press, and an archive.
