Information for new Postgraduate Masters students

Congratulations on your place at Liverpool Hope University! This page tells you everything you need to know about joining us as a Postgraduate Masters student in February 2024. Please keep checking these pages which we will continue to update regularly prior to you commencing your studies here at Liverpool Hope.

Key dates

  • 6th- 9th February 2024: Induction related activities will take place
  • 12th February onwards: Teaching officially starts as set out on your timetable.

Induction schedule

Monday 5th February

 

Tuesday 6th February
  • 10am: Arrival and register at the event. Our Support teams will be to be around to support with timetabling, finance queries. **Please arrive at the Gateway Building at our Hope Park Campus. **
  • 10:30am: Welcome to Liverpool Hope University talk. 
  • 11:30am – 12:30pm: Campus Tours will be taking place to ensure that you are familiar with our campuses.
  • 12:30 - 1:30pm: lunch hour – free hot dogs.
  • 2 - 3:30pm - Central introduction to the library and academic misconduct.
Wednesday 7th February
  • 10am - 1pm: School/Department time. 
  • 1 - 2pm: Lunch.
  • 2 - 3pm: Living in the UK talk for international students.
  • 3 - 4pm: International document checking.
Thursday 8th February
  • 10am - 1pm: School/Department time.
  • 2pm: Tour of Liverpool city centre from the Global Centre staff.
Friday 9th February
  • Optional trip to Chester with the Global Centre.

Before you arrive

You will receive a welcome email from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost which will include your login details required to access your University account.

Once you have received the letter, there are a number of things that you need to do before you arrive. To do this you need to log in to your Hope IT account:

  • Visit MyHope, the University's student portal
  • Login using the details on your letter (when you have done this you will see a selection of options within MyHope)

What to do and by when

Register Within MyHope, click on SRM (Student Record Management) box on the top left hand corner of the webpage and complete the Registration Task in your ‘In Tray’. January 2024
Tell us who will be paying your fees When your registration task is completed you will be asked questions about payment of your fees. January 2024 
Access your timetable Within SRM (Student Record Management) click on the timetable tab at the top of the page. Your default screen will be September, you should ensure that your settings are set so that you can see your timetable for October. January 2024 
Access Moodle Within MyHope, click on the Moodle box at the top of the page and check your courses are listed. If you click on these you can see if your tutors have already added any information (you will need to check this regularly). They will be populated as we approach the start of term. January 2024 
ID card

There will be a Photo Upload task in your ‘In Tray’ in SRM.

Access your Hope email account

If you have a personal GMail account, please ensure that it is logged off on the device you are using. Then, enter google.co.uk into the browser and click on Mail or GMail in the top right hand corner. Your email username is your ID number followed by @hope.ac.uk. Your password is as set out in your letter from the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Provost. 

It is important that you access this regularly because the University and your tutors will use this to ensure that you have essential details about your course.

Induction/ orientation for new Postgraduate Students

Induction sessions will take place at the University between 6th- 9th February 2024. Please keep an eye on this page for further details which will be published in the New Year.

The induction events are designed for Postgraduate Students to familiarise yourself with our campuses and the support services that are available before you officially begin your studies. Even if you have studied with us at Undergraduate Level, we strongly recommend joining us at this event.

We want your transition to Liverpool Hope to be as easy and enjoyable as possible, so if you have any outstanding questions, please feel free to ask these during the induction activities - we will be available to answer even the smallest query.
