What is your name, what year are you in and where are you from?
Kofi Bediako, a postgraduate student from Ghana
Why did you choose to study at Liverpool Hope University?
I chose Liverpool Hope University because it promised a welcoming environment with excellent facilities, quality teaching and supportive staff that work together to give students the best training and opportunities in life after graduation. With my experience so far, I can confidently say that I have not been disappointed. If anything, my expectations have been exceeded.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently working on my dissertation. It focuses on the protection of civilians in conflict areas.
Tell us what you are studying and the most challenging part of the course?
I am studying MA in Peace Studies. For me, the most challenging thing is the ability to demonstrate extensive research and originality at the same time.
What has been the highlight of your time in Liverpool so far?
I have had a lot of wonderful experiences in Liverpool but the most amazing so far is having the opportunity to present a paper at the Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu Centre for War and Peace. It was a great learning curve for me. It offered me the opportunity to build on my confidence, learn from my mistakes and polish my presentation skills as I look forward to developing a career in academia. I thank Liverpool Hope University and the organizers of the program for such an amazing opportunity.
