Pranay Raj Shakya, Nepal, MA International RelationsWednesday 5 March 2014
Before I came to Liverpool Hope I worked in a multinational as Chapter Manager and as a District Leadership Trainer – Nepal and Bhutan Chapter Rotaract as well as becoming Charter President in Rotaract (youth chapter of Rotary International). At Thames Int’l College I became Student Union President - Nepal. I was also a Freelance Corporate Trainer (leadership, team building, and motivation) and Professional Development Director – Rotaract District Committee for Nepal and Bhutan.
I learnt about the 50% scholarship at an education fair and applied for a place at Liverpool Hope and now I am studying for a Masters in International Relations
The biggest change in academic style and faculty as I was studying Business administration for undergraduate level which is written exam based, but here is it more research based with journals and previous writing with field studies.
I have had an absolutely amazing lifetime learning experience. I have been working with Global Hope as Training advisor in Student Development and Wellbeing. I also greatly enjoyed my first time representing Nepal in Cultural Carnival and being voted as the BEST STALL.
In my spare time I have been working for the Students’ Union as Union Journalist and International Student Social Secretary.
My advice for prospective international students is plan everything well in advance, be in frequent communication with the International Unit through emails and finally do your research about the place you are travelling to study and live in
After graduation I will hopefully pursue work experience in UK. I will also aspire to complete further study.
