Savandie Abeyratna, BSc, MSc, MPhil

Superstar Savandie - one of the most fantastic students of the Hope family!

Savandie Abeyratna - BSc Information Technology and Biology, MSc Computer Science (Intelligent Systems), Currently studying MPhil
read her story ... Savandie says: It wasn’t until I came to Liverpool Hope that I found the academic within me. I choose to do a combined honours degree which is where you can study two subjects. Biology was my main subject but I preformed even better in IT. My problem solving and analytic skills really developed. After my Bachelors at Hope I went on to do a Masters in Bio-Informatics at the University of Manchester. Whilst it was a prestigious and high ranking university, I felt really lost there. It was completely different from Hope where the lecturers knew and understood me. They knew my strengths and weaknesses and helped me develop in the best way. So I came back to Hope where I pursued MSc Computer Science, which I graduated with a distinction and am now pursuing a MPhil. I work with some excellent scholars that have been immensely supportive, and guided me through my ideas.

Liverpool Hope says: Savandie is a true success story. She is an integral part of the Liverpool Hope family where she has lived and studied for over 8 years. We feel so lucky to have her here – Savandie is a true Hope shining star!
