We have an exciting programme of events on campus throughout the year – these can be found on the Monthly Events Planner available around campus, or watch out for information by email or on the International Buddies Facebook page. From quiz nights to comedians and acoustic nights to themed fund raisers there is always something to do on Freedom Fridays in Our Place.
Chaplaincy is a hub for anyone who wants a quiet night out – you can drop in at any time and use the space to cook some food, make a hot drink and spend some time chatting to whoever is there – a great way to meet new people. Don’t forget to go for the £1 Lunch on Mondays at 12.30pm – great food and great company – there is always someone new to talk to.
At Aigburth Park, the Trinity Building offers a central hub of activity where you can chat to friends, have a game of table tennis or pool or even play the piano! A computer room, laundry room and vending area, plus the stylish decor and relaxed seating make this a great place to socialise. With a choice of film nights, quizzes, competitions, bring-a-dish events and themed parties throughout the year, you don't have to go far from your room to be entertained.
Social Life in Liverpool is as exciting or as chilled and laid back as you want it to be. The city centre has a plethora of sophisticated bars, traditional English pubs, night clubs and theatres, from vibrant dance clubs to laid back acoustic venues. You will never be short of somewhere to go!
Of course, Liverpool is famous for its music heritage and attracts world-renowned artists to its Echo Arena stadium and the many other theatres around the city, not to mention the Music Festivals and outdoor events which take place in the docklands area and parks.
If you love art or history, there are many galleries and museums for you to browse – most of them are free to enter. You can also explore our historic buildings, such as St George's Hall or visit our two Cathedrals.
If you will be living at the Aigburth Park Student Village you will love the local night scene, especially around Lark Lane – only a few minutes’ walk from Aigburth Park, you will find many small restaurants, wine bars and traditional pubs, almost on your doorstep.

You may like to do some travelling within the UK and some of you may want to venture further afield to the many beautiful cities in Europe. Liverpool has its own international airport and flights to Europe can be booked at very reasonable prices - you can be in Paris or Madrid within a couple of hours!
For destinations not available from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Manchester International is only a 45 minute ride away and has a much wider range of destinations.
Liverpool is also very well placed for travelling to the most popular UK destinations – Edinburgh (Scotland), Dublin (Ireland), The Lake District National Park, the Cotswolds, Derbyshire and Wales are only a couple of hours away and London can be reached by direct express train in only two and a half hours.
Train availability and prices are available at Trainline
The International Student Support Manager offers a great programme of events and trips throughout the year - you can enjoy travel by air conditioned coach to historic castles, stately homes and Roman towns. Last year we travelled to Chester, Conway Castle, Caernarfon Castle, Warwick Castle and York. For 2016/17 we are hoping to include the beautiful Derbyshire estate and stately home of Chatsworth House. For more information see the Events Programme Sem 1 2016
The Residential Life Team, Chaplaincy and Students' Union may also offer trips, so watch out for further information on the International Buddies Facebook page.
Look on the On-line Store for the new Trips Package, which allows you to pay for a number of day trips in advance - this saves you having to find the money after arrival and maybe you can persuade a loved one to buy the package for you! Just enter 'International' in the search box or go to Product Catalogue/Field Trips/International. If you only want to book on one trip, check availability by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org - there may be some individual seats available to purchase if you don't want the whole package.
These trips are a great way to get to know other students, as well as seeing some beautiful parts of the UK - not to mention some great photo opportunities so you can show your family and friends back home where you have been.
