Senior Lecturer/Senior Professional Tutor in Graphic Design
We are looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Senior Professional Tutor in Graphic Design who will undertake the leadership of this exciting new BA programme (launching in 2018). The post holder will be responsible for programme leadership, teaching and management, assimilation of existing curriculum and the generation of new course content on the undergraduate degree programme in graphic design.
The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly and closely with colleagues across the department who are responsible for a host of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to achieve the desired balance of practice and theory.
He/she will join a dedicated departmental team who work closely together. The department is fully committed to excellence in teaching, to enhancing the student experience, and increasingly to delivering research/professional experience. The ability to attract and to seek external links/funding for projects is desirable. Proficiency in the relevant current design software and expertise and experience in typography and visual culture/communication is required. A working knowledge or awareness of UX/UI and app technology and its applications is desirable.
The University is committed to working with industry and cultural and creative organisations to design and develop curriculum that is relevant and related to the missions of these organisations and the development of the city. Currently the University has formal partnerships with National Museums Liverpool, Liverpool Tate and FACT, as well as established links with the Bluecoat and the Arts and Craft Council amongst others. The University wishes to build on existing links with international partners, providing exchange opportunities for study abroad students as well as hosting international renowned artists and scholars.
The post is permanent, subject to the normal probationary period of twelve months.
