Development work at the Creative Campus

Development work

Over the summer, the Creative Campus will be transformed to create a new Arts Centre, food court, student study spaces and additional library provision. When students return for their studying in September 2018 the changes will be amazing.

Arts Centre

Liverpool Hope now owns buildings along Shaw Street at the front of the Creative Campus. One of these buildings will be transformed into a new Art Centre, which will house studios spaces for Fine and Applied Art. The space will include a large refurbished warehouse space as well as smaller studios.

The Cornerstone Building

The move to the Arts Centre will make way for a new Food Court on the ground floor of the Cornerstone Building. The space under the Great Hall will be opened up to make way for this new eatery and there will also be a study and social space with open access computers.

The ground floor will also include a new Faculty office so students, staff and guests have a first point of contact when arriving at the Creative Campus. The existing canteen will become teaching rooms, with the toilets moving to the side of the building. The building work will also include additional group study rooms, and a hub for the Student Support and Well-being and Students’ Union teams.

The refurbishment will be complete with a new Graphic Design studio and fabrication lab, which will include state-of-the-art equipment such as 3D printers, plotter and graphics quality printers.

Additional Library at the Capstone

The Creative Campus will also gain additional library facilities during this refurbishment. This enhanced library provision will be in The Capstone Building.
