Cabaret - theatrical performance

Tuesday, 2 April 2019 , 7.30pm
The Great Hall, Creative Campus

Liverpool Hope students perform the muscial Cabaret.

The show takes place in 1930’s Berlin during a period of historic unease and depression.

The action begins when American Clifford Bradshaw enters the Kit Kat Klub nightclub, and meets Sally Bowles, a bubbly and attractive cabaret performer with a troubled past. Sally and Cliff begin a relationship, which blossoms into something wonderful. However, to the backdrop of the rise of Hitler’s Nazi party and the anti- semitic waves of violence rife at the time, Cliff finds that his friend Ernst is a member of the Nazi party and Sally’s landlady and her fiancé have become victims of a hate crime.
Cliff decides to go away to America and take the now pregnant Sally with him, but Sally is worried that she won’t manage to change lifestyles and leave behind the Cabaret with all it’s glitter and glamour.
