British Science Week returns with packed programme of events

An action-packed week of science and discovery will mark the third annual British Science Week celebration at Liverpool Hope University.  

A varied programme of events open to schools, colleges and members of the public will be held in the University’s state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building and across both campuses.

British Science Week celebrations will run from Friday 9th March to Friday 16th March, with the Faculty of Science hosting a number of fascinating and interactive activities for people of all ages.

Women in science and society, nutrition, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, psychology and dune ecology are among the topics that will be explored through talks, guest lectures and workshops.

From a beginners’ introduction to different specialisms, to detailed explorations for college students considering a future in the field, there is something for everyone.

Among this year’s highlights is a charity football match on Saturday 10th March, which will see staff and students go up against each other to raise money for Woolton Community Life and Autism Together. Members of the public are invited to come along and show their support.

There will also by free football coaching workshops for children aged 4 – 16 run by the University’s partner Little League Sports.

British Science Week (BSW) is an annual ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths ran by the British Science Association.
