Professional Tutor in Art History Dr Paul O’Keeffe is taking part in the 200th anniversary celebrations in memory of English Art Critic John Ruskin.

Dr O’Keeffe will recreate two of Ruskin’s most resonant lectures at Sheffield’s Central Library on Wednesday 10th and Wednesday 17th April 2019.

A Joy Forever was first delivered in July 1857 to coincide with Manchester’s great Art Treasures Exhibition and will be presented by O’Keeffe on Wednesday 10th April. This will be followed by the recreation of Ruskin’s Traffic on Wednesday 17th April. Traffic was first delivered in April 1864 when a committee of Bradford citizens invited Ruskin to advise them on the design of a new Exchange they intended to build.

The lectures form part of the Ruskin in Sheffield 2019 year-long programme of events and activities, which celebrate 200 years since the influential individual’s birth.
