A team of Law students from Liverpool Hope travelled to the Institute of Law in Jersey to battle it out in the UK Student Mediation Competition.

Senior Professional Tutor in Law Ian Johnson, who helped to organise and judge the event, took undergraduates Tasha Polley, Leander Williams, Nicola Conalty and Dani Lewis to the competition.

Previously known as the National Mediation Competition, the event invites Law schools to send four candidates and a coach to compete.

Mr Johnson said: “The team performed very creditably, coming seventh out of 17 competitors. In fact, the team were the second-best undergraduate team at the competition, with the first five places in the tournament taken by postgraduate teams.”

Tasha Polley was particularly successful, placing in the top 10 in the individual mediator competition.
