The UK public have been voting for their favourite British cities, and Liverpool has been named in the top 10.
Climbing four places, our city comes in at number seven in the 2018 Telegraph Travel Awards, making it one of the most popular destinations in the country.
Announcing the winners, The Telegraph stated: “The city in the North West climbs four places as it celebrated 10 years since attaining its European Capital of Culture title.
“Liverpool continues to brim with character and culture, with the Terracotta Army having arrived in town at the beginning of the year. Also of note is the Unesco World Heritage waterfront, the Albert Dock, which boasts the Tate Liverpool, and a whole host of Superlambananas.”
The 2018 awards lists the public’s top 20 British cities, with Liverpool placing above Chester, Oxford, Durham, and Newcastle.
