Students who have displayed outstanding achievement and ability were recognised at a special Scholarship Presentation evening.

Liverpool Hope University offers a wide range of scholarships and awards, and believes entry to the University should be based on quality and the talent of students wishing to be educated within Hope’s Mission and Values.

Maisie Sergeant, who received the Special Educational Needs Departmental Scholarship, described her surprise at being awarded the prize.

She said: “I was shocked when I received the scholarship, but proud that the University has recognised my college results. I think recognising when students have achieved is a great incentive to push them to achieve more.

“I’ve loved joining Hope and have settled into university life really well. I’ve really enjoyed the different aspects to my course and making a great group of friends. I haven’t decided what I’d like to do in the future, however, I feel the course I’ve chosen has a lot of versatility and many paths I could chose to take.”

Professor Gerald J Pillay, the Vice-Chancellor and Rector, gave the welcome and address to this year’s scholarship recipients, before the awards were presented.
