Lecturers from the School of Social Sciences have contributed to a discussion on European Society post-Brexit for the Social Policy and Society journal.
Lecturers in Social Policy Dr Steven Corbett and Dr Julia Lux, along with Lecturer in Sociology Dr Jasna Balorda each contributed an article to the journal’s Brexit-themed section.
In the section, commentators consider the social quality of Europe and problems it faces, with more neoliberal technocracy or the rise of far right nationalist populism being two approaches unable to deal with the societal problems that European countries face.
The articles cover these issues in Denmark, France, and more broadly, the idea of the European Social Model. The Themed Section will appear in print in January 2019, but the articles are available to view online now.
