Winter Graduation at Liverpool Hope University

Burke_200_x_133Winter Graduation ceremonies took place at Liverpool Hope University on 26th January, as the University community honoured the achievements of over one hundred students.

Two of honorary doctorates were also awarded at the service, which took place in the Hope Chapel at the University's Hope Park campus.

Dr James Burke (pictured, left), former Rector of Liverpool Institute of Higher Education, was awarded a Honorary Doctorate of Letters in recognition of his vital contributions to the establishment of what is now Liverpool Hope University.

Bishop Vincent Malone was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity in recognition of his contributions to Catholic education, ecumenism and Liverpool Hope University’s development over many years.

Professor Gerald Pillay, Vice-Chancellor of the University, said: 'I am delighted to see the hard work, dedication and high quality of Hope graduates being rewarded at our Winter Graduation ceremony.'
