5 ways to get involved at Liverpool HopeTuesday 29 September 2015
With Freshers’ Fair upon us, Kira Cox (Students’ Union President, Liverpool Hope University), gives us 5 things you can get involved with to make the most out of your time at Liverpool Hope:
1. Student groups
We currently have over 70 sports clubs and societies here at Liverpool Hope SU, from a Green Hope society, to men’s Gaelic and women’s rugby – you can get involved in as many as you like. You can find them all in one place this Tuesday (29th) at Freshers’ Fair in the Sports Hall. If there’s nothing that takes your fancy, why not set up your own? It’s easy to do and we’re here to help!
Forums are an opportunity for all students to take control of the SU. It’s where all of the important decisions about union policy, funding, events and campaigns happen. As well as being a chance to hold your sabbs to account! This is the place to share exciting news and have passionate discussions to help shape and change your union!
Every year your 3 SU sabbatical officers, alongside a great group of part-time officers, run a number of campaigns. From educational ones, like writing workshops, to mental health awareness and women in leadership. You have the chance to be involved in all of these or even start your own campaign in the coming year!
Every year we hold two sets of elections, first for our part time officers – (nominations for these are open between 28th September and the 23rd October ) and secondly for your sabbatical officers in March. Come and speak to one of the officers for more info!
5. Students’ Union website
By using your Hope email to sign up to our website (hopesu.com) you are able to join groups, submit Big Ideas, purchase tickets for our events and vote in our elections. This year we are developing our website to be better than ever and a huge part of this is getting all of you signed up. So get going!
