Celebrating the festive season with song

Students, staff, alumni and friends are invited to celebrate the festive season at Liverpool Hope with a choice of concerts this December.

On Tuesday 8th December at 7pm, Hope Park Voices will present Carols by Candlelight. They will perform carols old and new in the Hope Chaplaincy, Hope Park. Tickets £3 on the door, including festive refreshments.

On Tuesday 15th December, Liverpool Hope’s Department of Music present their annual choral and orchestral concert at 7.30pm in the Great Hall at the Creative Campus. The concert will feature Vanessa Williamson (mezzo) Jonathan Aasgaard (cello) David Walters (piano), Liverpool Hope University Choir, members of the Metropolitan Cathedral Cantata Choir, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and it will be conducted by Stephen Pratt. The programme will include Mendelssohn (Overture, The Hebrides; Three Hymns, op.96), Svyati (John Tavener) and Beethoven (Choral Fantasy, op.80). Admission free.

The Staff Festive Celebration will take place on Friday 18th December at 3pm. The event will include songs and the announcement of the winner of the Best Decorated Office in the Deck the Halls competition. Staff can also volunteer their own performance item (of around 5 minutes) by sending an email to Mary Black (blackm@hope.ac.uk) with details.
