Children’s University celebrates 90 years of Winnie the PoohTuesday 18 October 2016
To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Winnie the Pooh, Student Recruitment ran a special event for Knowsley Children's University.
Following on from previous successful events with Children's University, our Student Ambassadors delivered sessions, creating Winnie the Pooh puppets and designing the Hope campus map in the style of Hundred Acre Wood.
At the end of the day the 22 children who attended the event, along with their parents, went on a scavenger hunt to find Winnie's pot of honey.
Dave Sennett, Head of Student Recruitment, said: “It’s great to use an iconic literary children's character to help inspire children creatively. Through the events we run with Children's University youngsters, we’ve had the opportunity to develop a range of extracurricular skills, as well as experiencing a university setting.”
The children also enjoyed the event, describing it as ‘amazing’ and ‘fantastic’.
Liverpool Hope University has been working with Children’s University for more than six years.
The international charity encourages children aged 5-14 to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills through participation in innovative and creative Learning Activities outside of the school day.
