Dr Bryce Evans' research on famine features on Irish national radio

0073 Dr Bryce Evans Wednesday 22 February 2017

Research by Senior Lecturer in History Dr Bryce Evans was featured on RTE Radio 1’s flagship morning show to much praise from popular broadcaster Ryan Tubridy.

Dr Evans’ research explores ‘The Greatest Famine Film Never Made’, which describes the abortive yet colourful attempts by celebrated American film director John Ford to make a film about Ireland's Great Hunger.

Tubridy - whose show enjoys a listenership of 350,000 and who also presents on RTE1 television and BBC Radio 2 - praised what he called a 'fascinating piece by Bryce Evans'. He described it as a 'must read', adding he 'had no idea' about this episode in history until reading the article.
