Dr Eleanor Rees inspires students on National Poetry DayWednesday 12 October 2016
Published Poet and Lecturer in Creative Writing Dr Eleanor Rees helped inspire Year 8 students from Upton-By-Chester High School as they marked National Poetry Day.
Dr Rees read from her own collections at a special event held at Liverpool Central Library, exploring topics including climate change and its impact on animals.
English Teacher Miss Green said: “This allowed students to imagine what ‘message’ they would like to project through their own poems as this was the theme for National Poetry Day.
“As a group we gathered on the roof terrace as the sun was setting to perform poetry created that evening. This made for a fantastic atmosphere and a truly memorable experience.”
