Organised by the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, the event gathered academics, civil society leaders, entrepreneurs, and government officials from across the Middle East, who are engaged with countering violent extremism.
Dr Hamid was invited to deliver his paper British Counter-Extremism Policy: A Short Reflection on Good Practice.
He said: “I spoke about the British experience and highlighted effective community led projects.
“It was an opportunity to discuss the issues with people from various governmental perspectives and led to a set of recommendations that will be presented to policy makers in the US administration.”
