Fine Art student helps Radio Merseyside get funny for money for Comic Relief

Anthony Hamlyn Comic Relief Monday 16 March 2015

Fine Art student Anthony Hamlyn showed off his talent and helped raise money for charity on Red Nose Day 2015.

Anthony was invited in to the BBC Radio Merseyside studios to draw a caricature of BBC presenter Sean Styles while he was presenting his show live on air.

Anthony, from Northampton, also chatted to Sean about his course at Liverpool Hope and his love for the city, and he was invited to choose a record for his mum in celebration of Mothers’ Day.

The final picture was revealed at the end of the show and was then posted on the Radio Merseyside facebook page.

Anthony said: “It was really good fun and I was delighted to be helping a good cause at the same time. I get to work in a variety of different mediums as part of my course but I enjoyed working in pencil for this – I chose to draw Sean’s caricature in blue because he is an Everton supporter and that seemed to go down well!”
