Graduation 2015: A week of celebrations

Graduation roundup Friday 24 July 2015

It was another successful graduation this week with around 1,000 graduates joined by their families and friends on campus across three days of celebrations.

Graduates were treated to a day full of memory-making with a Service of Thanksgiving and presentation of prizes ceremony, an organised hat throw in the library quad, free refreshments around campus, plentiful photo opportunities, and the degree ceremony itself taking place in the stunning Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral – all topped off with a congratulations procession down the cathedral steps.

This year also saw Liverpool Hope’s first ever Mexican Wave during Thursday's hat throw and a free photo booth in the EDEN Building which was enjoyed by both graduates and their guests.

As well as celebrating the successes of our undergraduate and postgraduate students, each day included the awarding of an Honorary Degree.

This year’s recipients were Dr Marilynne Robinson (Doctor of Letters), Trevor Lyttleton (Doctorate of Humane Letters) and Professor Roger Brown (Doctor of Education).
