Honorary Fellow Margaret Aspinall presented with Women of the Year AwardMonday 17 October 2016
Congratulations to our Honorary Fellow Margaret Aspinall CBE, who has accepted a Women of the Year Award from Prime Minister Theresa May.
Margaret collected the award on behalf of a group of mothers who have campaigned tirelessly for justice since the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989.
Women of the Year recognises and celebrates inspirational women of all backgrounds at an annual lunch, lecture and through on-going foundation work.
Margaret, who is chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, was made a Senior Fellow of Liverpool Hope at the University’s annual Foundation Day Service held earlier this year.
Both Margaret and fellow campaigner Trevor Hicks CBE, were honoured by Professor Gerald Pillay, Vice Chancellor and Rector of Liverpool Hope University, as “outstanding exemplars of perseverance and unwavering dedication to truth and justice”.
