Hope Park Voices and the Chamber Choir perform at Winchester CathedralTuesday 1 March 2016
Students, staff and alumni came together in song at the Annual Conference and Choirs Festival of the Cathedrals Group 2016.
Held at Winchester Cathedral, the event marked the 175th anniversary celebrations of the University of Winchester and featured choirs from more than a dozen universities and colleges with Christian foundations.
Liverpool Hope University Accompanist and Chamber Choir Director David Walters said: “The festival was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.
“Our joint choir, comprising members of Hope Park Voices and Chamber Choir, was one of the most inclusive university choirs at the Festival - with students from all levels including undergraduate, postgraduate, international and exchange students, support staff, academic staff, alumni and former staff - and it was wonderful to see such a diverse group of people work together so effectively.”
A different member university hosts the festival each year, with the 2016 concert titled Gloria and performed by more than 300 choir members and the Southern Sinfonia Orchestra.
The Chamber Choir will be performing closer to home on Thursday 28th April at the Capstone Theatre and Hope Park Voices will host a summer concert on Tuesday 10th May.
