Hope represented at international music conferenceFriday 18 September 2015
The Music Department of Liverpool Hope University was well represented at the Ninth Biennial International Conference on Music since 1900.
Hope PhD student Esmee Hoek presented a paper on her doctoral research into experimental English record producer Joe Meek entitled Zen and the Art of Musical Production: A Case for Joe Meek and the Clavioline.
Meanwhile, Head of Music Dr Laura Hamer served on the programme committee and chaired a number of sessions, including those dedicated to Wedekind’s Lulu in Music and War in Music: Memory, Event, Prophecy.
The conference, held at the University of Glasgow, was also attended by Liverpool Hope PhD student Zaina Shihabi.
Liverpool Hope University hosted the last Biennial International Conference in September 2013.
