Hope student carries Olympic Flame

Hope student Kate Lord had a taste of the limelight on Friday 29th June, as she took part in the Olympic Flame relay as it passed through Chesterfield.

Talking to The Chesterfield Post, Kate said: "It was absolutely amazing. As I was going through the middle of town, I couldn't believe how busy it was, there were so many people. Everybody was so kind and friendly and the reception I got was fantastic, I really enjoyed it.

"On August 31st, I am going with a group of people from Liverpool Hope to Uganda for two weeks.  We will be working in an orphanage on behalf of Global Hope and showing the kids lots of different sports and trying to give them an experience like today."
