Introducing our new academics: Department of Mathematics and Computer ScienceWednesday 4 November 2015
The Department of Computer Science has welcomed Dr Fahimeh Jafari and Dr Ipek Caliskanelli as Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellows.
Dr Fahimeh Jafari (pictured) received her BSc. and MSc. degrees in Computer Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, and a PhD in Electronic and Computer Systems from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. From 2006 to 2009, Dr Jafari was research assistant at the School of Computer Science, Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Iran. During these years, she was also a lecturer in the field of Computer Science and supervised Bachelor theses in Software Engineering. In 2009, she moved to KTH Royal Institute of Technology as a visiting researcher and then got a fully-funded PhD admission from KTH. Her research interests include Design Methodologies, Interconnection Networks, Mathematical Modelling, Operations Research, and Performance Evaluation.
Dr Ipek Caliskanelli received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of York and has worked at the University of Liverpool as a Post Doctoral Researcher. Her research interests include optimisation techniques, embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, autonomous robotics and virtual reality.
