Liverpool Hope Business student represents region at World Chamber CongressTuesday 23 June 2015
Business Management student Claudia Hurlock met with businesses and key influencers from around the world after being invited to the ninth World Chamber Congress in Turin.
Claudia travelled with delegates from the Liverpool and Sefton Chamber of Commerce to represent the region and showcase the International Festival for Business (IFB).
Claudia was selected to be part of the official delegation as a recipient of one of the Liverpool Hope Insight to Business Awards, which offer Liverpool Hope students opportunities to network and develop their employability skills with leading organisations and businesses.
Claudia assisted on the IFB exhibition stand alongside staff from the Chamber and Liverpool Vision, where she met people from across the world whilst also learning how the Chamber supports businesses to grow overseas.
She also took part in workshops covering issues such as job creation, Chamber membership and metropolitan cities and was given the chance to attend a seminar on youth entrepreneurism. Claudia also attended the Gala Dinner at the 'Reggia di Venaria Reale' which included a speech from the Mayor of Turin and another opportunity to network.
Claudia, who wants to eventually run her own property business, said: “The experience that I have had has been invaluable and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to take part. I think it is great that Liverpool Hope University offers these experiences to students which both enhance employability and develop skills at the same time. I have come back with more confidence, an enhanced network and more developed skills as a whole."
