Liverpool Hope University academics share expertise with the mediaWednesday 4 March 2015
Lecturers from Liverpool Hope have been sharing their expertise with the media over the last week.
Dr Evan Jean Lawrence, Professional Tutor in International Relations and Politics, and expert in terrorism and security, appeared on BBC Breakfast and Granada ITV News. Dr Lawrence discussed the Abid Nazeer case and UK security issues.
Professor George Mair, Professor or Criminal Justice, was a guest on the BBC Radio Merseyside Breakfast Show where he discussed Merseyside Police’s latest crackdown on drugs and its possible impact.
Dr Bryce Evans, Senior Lecturer in History, also appeared on Radio Merseyside’s Roger Philips show to argue the case for the return of the World War II-style British Restaurant – subsidised restaurants that offer healthy and hearty meals and that Dr Evans argues could replace the modern foodbank. He also wrote a piece for The Conversation on the same topic, which was selected as one of the top blogs of the week by Guardian Society.
Dr Joel Rookwood, Senior Lecturer in Health and expert in sport, race and identity, spoke to Radio Merseyside about discrimination in football.
