Liverpool Hope's new Professorial Fellow Dr Ruth Pilkington has been named as a National Teaching Fellow for 2014 by the Higher Education Academy.
Professor Pilkington, a member of Hope's Education Faculty, has gained national recognition for wide-ranging expertise in teaching and learning in higher education and particularly for her development of 'critical professionalism, through which practitioners are encouraged to engage in enhancement of practice through scholarship and research'.
Professor Kenneth Newport, Dean of the Faculty of Education, said: "I am delighted that Professor Pilkington has joined the Hope community and brings this national-level expertise in an area that is key not only to the Faculty's but the whole University's core activity.
"I look forward to Professor Pilkington sharing her expertise with the Hope community and the student-focused benefits that this will bring."
Professor Pilkington will be awarded her National Teaching Fellowship at a gala dinner at Liverpool Cathedral on Wednesday 8 October 2014.
