New book published by History Lecturer Dr Stephen KellyMonday 26 September 2016
This week sees the release of a new book by Lecturer in Modern History Dr Stephen Kelly.
Published by Merrion Press, A failed political entity: Charles Haughey and the Northern Ireland Question, 1945-1992, explores British-Irish relations in the post-war era.
Dr Kelly said: “Due to the availability of newly released archival documentation from archives in the United Kingdom and Ireland, this book offers a fresh examination, specifically Charles Haughey's relationship with the British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.”
Liverpool Hope University Research Funding Committee helped to fund the research and production stages of the book, which is available now to pre-order on Amazon.
Elsewhere, Dr Kelly recently spoke about his new research on the BBC4 Radio series The Anglo-Irish Century.
He focused on the strained relationship between Thatcher and Haughey in relation to the Falklands War during the early 1980s.
